Aims

Damodar Gabeshana Patrika (Damodar Journal) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary academic research journal committed to fostering scholarly inquiry, critical thought, and indigenous knowledge systems. Named after the historic and culturally significant Damodar river basin, the journal aims to provide an intellectual platform for academicians, researchers, social scientists, and independent scholars to publish original, high-quality, and methodologically sound research.

Objectives

The primary objectives of the journal are:

  • To bridge regional, national, and global perspectives by encouraging research focused on local socio-economic, ecological, and cultural realities alongside broader academic discourses.
  • To promote interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research across the humanities, social sciences, environmental studies, and regional development.
  • To support bilingual and vernacular academic discourse (primarily English and Bengali) to make critical scholarship accessible to both local communities and international academia.
  • To adhere to high standards of academic integrity, rigorous double-blind peer review, and ethical publishing practices.

The journal invites original research papers, critical review articles, case studies, field reports, and book reviews. Its thematic coverage spans, but is not limited to, the following domains:
